About

Welcome to BlackNote Investment,

The equity research platform where you can find all the necessary data for company valuations.

BlackNote Investment’s mission is to support retail investors and professional analysts in their daily activities giving them access to a broad range of insightful data about the company they are analysing.

More than often, while valuing publicly traded companies, both investors and analysts struggle to find insightful data to back up their analysis, and if found, usually they don’t come cheap.

The founder, Davide Zappa, found himself struggling with the same issues, unable to find relevant data which would have come in handy during company valuations.

BlackNote Investment was born to compensate for this need.

Here at BlackNote, we believe that having access to industry-level data is the most crucial part when valuing publicly traded companies.

Most investors and analysts forget the company they are analysing is not the only player in its industry – a feature only a handful of companies can boast of having – but rather is just one of the many actors playing the business game threatened by the ever-existing chance of new players entering the game and disrupting it.

Having access to industry-level data allows investors and analysts to elaborate more informed assumptions about the company they are analysing, and consequentially, make better investment decisions.

Following is a quick snapshot of what you will find on BlackNote Investment:

  • Industry Growth Rates – an annually updated list of growth rates calculated using the fundamental approach for 37 different industries and used to estimate the company’s future growth rate during DCF valuations
  • Industry Data – annually updated reports containing insightful data about 37 industries and 4 sectors going back more than 10 years like total revenues, total free cash flows, median operating margins, return on capital, as well as betas and financial ratios used to assess companies’ risk.
